Dr. Gonzalez-Yumar is Board Certified in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery by the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Gonzalez was born in Camaguey, Cuba. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Medical Sciences School of Dentistry of Camaguey in 2011. Dr. Gonzalez graduated with Honors and was awarded the Best Academic Student Award of his graduation year.
After two years of practicing as a general dentist and as a part-time faculty member at the School of Dentistry; Dr. Gonzalez emigrated with his family to Florida, United States. Through years of resilience, sacrifices, and achievements as a Dental Assistant and Dental Hygienist, received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2021 and graduated with Honors in Periodontics and received the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics.
After three years of Residency dedicated to the study of Periodontics and developing the skills in the field including diagnosis and treatment of Periodontal and Peri-implant diseases, scaling and root planning, gum surgeries and grafting, implant surgery and sinus lift techniques among others Dr. Gonzalez obtained his Certificate in Periodontics from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2024 obtaining the Award: “The Beube Memorial Fund in Periodontics.”
He believes that his passion for the field of Periodontics and his commitment to his patients are the perfect combinations to succeed.
Dr. Gonzalez loves spending time with family and friends and enjoys outdoor activities as well as cultural performances.
