Dentures are an appliance you can take in and out of your mouth to replace missing teeth. Denture wearers enjoy the benefit of a natural and comfortable fit, and with the latest advancements in dentistry, dentures are made to match your existing teeth.
Dentures
Depending on your tooth loss, your dentist will recommend either complete or partial denture. Complete dentures also come in either conventional or immediate applications. Conventional are placed in your mouth 8 to 12 weeks after the necessary removal of any teeth. A patient can walk out the office with immediate dentures right after teeth are removed so there is no wait.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are an option for when there are natural teeth remaining. The natural teeth are used as an anchor for the partial dentures. The appliance is typically made up of a gum-colored base to which replacement teeth are inserted. It is custom made to ensure a proper fit.
The partial denture can be removed easily for cleaning and protects the rest of the teeth and gums so you can maintain a healthy smile. Additional replacement teeth can be added to the partial denture if necessary, as well.
