What is the Difference Between Veneers and Direct Composite Bonding?
There are a number of people who are unhappy with the appearance of their front teeth and would love to make a change. We offer two great cosmetic dentistry options that can make many improvements to your teeth and your smile — veneers and direct composite bonding. Each option offers its own benefits depending on your needs and the desired results.
Veneers
This option uses a wafer-thin shell that is permanently placed over the front surface of your entire tooth. Veneers are tooth colored and blend in beautifully with your natural teeth. You can choose to have one veneer or multiple veneers to create a uniform smile. More than one appointment is needed for veneers. Veneers are a more expensive option, but they are durable and can last for many years. They also resist staining and can be cleaned the same way as your natural teeth.
Direct Composite Bonding
This option can be completed in one office visit. It uses a composite material that is matched to your natural teeth and is attached to the damaged area of the tooth. It is sculpted to the desired shape, smoothed and then polished. It provides a beautiful, finished look and is more cost effective, but is not as strong as veneers.
Choosing either option will give you beautiful results that will blend in with your natural teeth.
