Delaying needed treatment can lead to serious complications with both your oral and overall health. Read on to learn more.
Don’t Delay Treatment
The start of a new year is the perfect time to evaluate your oral health. If you have not visited our office in quite some time for a hygiene examination and cleaning, we suggest scheduling an appointment today. We also recommend scheduling the treatment we may have recommended during your last appointment. Delaying needed treatment can lead to further complications and the need for additional treatments.
Dental Decay is Here to Stay
Unfortunately, unlike other medical conditions, dental decay does not heal over time. The opposite is true, and you can find yourself needing more extensive and lengthier procedures the longer treatment is avoided. The longer decay remains, the more likely other issues with your oral and overall health will be detected. Decay in the mouth can lead to inflammation in the gums as well as inflammation in other areas of the body, such as the heart.
If you are delaying treatment due to dental anxiety, be sure to contact our office to discuss your feelings. We offer two forms of dental sedation depending on the level of your anxiety.
With the start of 2022, it is time to reflect on your oral health over the past year. If you are located in the Wellington, FL area and need to schedule a recommended dental treatment or have not had a dental cleaning and examination in over six months, it is time to give our office a call and schedule an appointment. We look forward to seeing you soon!
