Our New 3D CT Scanner
You might be thinking to yourself that this new addition to our practice sounds like a Star Wars character, but we are here to reassure you that, in fact, this machine allows our dentists to get the best view of your entire face, ensuring that you receive the very best in dental care. A 3D scanner is a fast, non-invasive way to take digital X-rays and capture clear images of the teeth, mouth, jaw, neck, ears, nose, and throat. This machine takes better pictures, which are essential in diagnosing problems and determining proper treatment plans. These images are more helpful than traditional two-dimensional X-rays because they can be rotated to see your teeth from every angle.
Benefits of Using a 3D CT Scanner
Traditional dental X-rays can be quite uncomfortable and are a bit invasive. They also only produce single images that may not provide the dentist with enough information to recommend the most appropriate treatment. Using a 3D CT scanner ensures that our dentists are able to see all angles of the tooth at a much higher clarity to better determine the best method of treatment. 3D images can assist in:
- Planning dental implant placement
- Diagnosing tooth decay and other dental problems
- Visualizing abnormal teeth
- Analyzing dental and facial trauma
- Planning and evaluating orthodontic treatment
We are committed to continuously improving the comfort and quality of care you receive in our office. If you are interested in hearing more about the 3D CT scanner and if it will be used at your next appointment, please call our Wellington, FL office today.
